Next May I am suppose to graduate and that makes me soooo happy! I will be graduating with a degree in Mass Communications, PR major, with a minor in sports management. It has taking me awhile to find my calling in what I am suppose to do. I have changed my major from nursing, to teaching, to film..To what it is now. I always thought I knew what I wanted to do with my life until I came to college and it was really time to figure it out.

My original plans after high-school was to attend beauty school, and open my own salon. However, my mom begged me to try ETSU out. She told me if I didn’t like it, I could do it. This was probably the best decision I’ve made for myself. I will actually be the first one to graduate from a University on my mother’s side of the family, which is a huge accomplishment. College has flew by, it really has. Freshmen year I’ll never forget the look on my moms face when she left me sitting on my bed with random roommates at University Edge. I don’t think I had ever felt so lost, because her and I are so close. Giving ETSU a shot was defiantly well worth it. I have had amazing professor’s. Cheryl Clavier particularly. I’ve met some of my future bridesmaids in college. This is just a fun time in my life. Spring break with my friends every year has been one for the books. It’s exciting to venture out of your comfort zone, and see where life can take you. After graduation I plan to move to Nashville, or somewhere in Florida.

Everyone has those own personal cheerleaders. Mine happens to be my mom, nana, and little brother. My little brother is ten years old. So there is  a big age gap between us. I have been blessed enough to have such a strong support system to help me get through every day life. It is important that we have these personal cheerleaders. Growing up I had toxic people in my life, and I made the decision to be the bigger person, and get away. You should never have anyone in your life that is not supporting you. Although they may not support your decision ( we all have disagreements) it is important they stand behind you no matter what. Those are the people that we need. You can tell easily who is supporting you just by how they act. It is important that the friends you choose, are ones you’re family approves of. I’ve had multiple friendships that my mother has told me ” I don’t have a good feeling” or “I don’t like you hanging around them” Momma is always right ! As you get older you tend to take your family’s word of advice more into consideration.

Knock on wood I am fortunate enough to still have my great grandparents as well. Growing up with such a tight loving family, it has shown me what I want in my life. My great grandparents have taught me how to always keep god first, and never give up. They have been together sense they were 13 years old. That gives a great image on you can stick it out, in todays society. Having such a great and helpful family, just motivates me more o be able to provide for them as they get up in age. I also can’t wait to see all the great things my little brother decides to do. Cheers to a good life!

Baseball Season

Who doesn’t enjoy sitting around and watching fine men in tight pants hit baseballs? Okayyyy, maybe men. Well some. Whatever ! This is my favorite time of the year. I have always been a baseball fan, so I am super excited for this season. Living in Johnson City, It is easy to catch a game. We have the Kingsport Mets, Cardinals, Pirates, Astros, and Twins. Those are just a few that are close to go catch a game, if you’re interested. Baseball games is all about the atmosphere. It begins to get warmer, nice music, cold beer, and just a good time with friends. Baseball games also do fun activities to get there fans involved, which makes the time more exciting.

Luckily, my bestfriend loves baseball more than I do. I drive a Scion Cube, and she drives a Bug. Best believe we have rode the wheels of those suckers last summer. We hop in the car and go. We almost always get a hot-dog, and nachos, just to get the feels of an outdoor event. Laken and I actually won fans of the game, more than once. We had our selfie posted in the newspaper. This is just something fun to do and keep you busy. Who knows my future hubby may be in Spring Training right now! Goodluck to him, wherever he may be.

Pet Peeves

As I sit hear and listen to this guy obnoxiously chew his gum, I need to rant. Eating with your mouth open has got to be one of the worse noises. Another pet peeve I have is when you are walking on the sidewalk, and someone is coming towards you and doesn’t even budge. LIKE HELLO SHARE. Those are probably my top two. To get more in depth it really really bugs me when I go to Wal-Mart and I see a little kid dirty, with no shoes, and the parent looks like they just got off the run way. IT’S NOT ALL ABOUT YOU HOMEGIRL ANYMORE… Everyone is different and may have a specific sound, clothing type, etc.. that bugs them.

My mom’s biggest pet peeve is if I put a bowl in the sink without running water in it. We all have some crazy ones! What are some of yours????

They are famous I’m not…..

Do you ever just sit their and wonder what your doing with your life? Like I am right now. Constantly stalking famous people online because that’s the life you should be living…. Maybe not, but my vision has always been bigger than the bigger picture. *drops mic* Really though! I keep up with the Deckers, hoping my future hubby has all the qualities like Eric. I also creep on Professional baseball players, because they are always on the go, and flying everywhere on their off days. It just something I can picture myself doing in the future. For right now though, I am a broke college student, just trying to get by.

Another big this I do is I get on instagram and look at Tammy Hembrews outfits (she’s perfect) .. I think (well i hope so I don’t look creepy) we all have those people we enjoy keeping up with online.

Valentines Day

Today  is February 14th.. A day I feel like society gets confused. This day is an appreciation day for both man and women. I guess you could say I’m on the bandwagon train because I believe this  day we celebrate shouldn’t have to show your love. Although I am single from my point of view, whoever I end up with will be reminded on the daily they are important. All these cute social media post, and chocolate covered strawberries are getting to me though! My bestfriend and I will make our own chocolate covered strawberries and continue to wait on our person to come around.

Its exciting sometimes to think of who you are going to end up with in the future! Its also very very scary. For now though I enjoy getting to do whatever I want, whenever I want without having to give an explanation. If I want to stay out until 5:30 a.m. with my girlfriends I can do that! THATS THE PERKS.

Mother Dear

When I get asked “Who do I look up to” my answer has always and will forever stay the same. My mom is my best friend! Everyone tends to have a different relationship with their mother, but we are SUPER CLOSE no other words to describe it. I was raised by a single mother growing up so that makes me admire her drive so much more. She has always provided and went way beyond to make sure I have everything.

I salute single moms because I know how hard it is because I watched mine. I have always been the positive one in the family. “It will be ok….We will get through it…” etc. I feel like it is my job now to graduate college, find a good job, and try to repay her for everything. Although thats impossible. Ive never been a tattoo type of person, but I did get one on my shoulder for her. Growing up we moved a lot, but one thing that was always stayed the same was our kitchen. My mom loved sunflowers. I got a tattoo of a sunflower on my shoulder to remind myself its all going to workout. I actually got her favorite song lyric by the Eagles “Love will keep us alive” tatted right above the flower…. This is just a reminder everyday of who I do it for.
